When Parents Text was featured on “The Simple List” in November’s Real Simple.

583: The number of text conversations included in When Parents Text

The featured text?

MOM: Are you on your way to Zimbabwe?
MOM: Zimbabwe
MOM: Zimbabwe
MOM: Zimbabwe
MOM: zumba
MOM: I finally got it right.

I love Real Simple. It’s a periodical that makes me want to solve problems I never knew I had… like dry nail beds and a disorganized linen closet.

Since our book came out– a little over a month ago– I’ve been obsessed with checking our Amazon rankings. We started in the six digits: #999,999 out of all the books or something like that. Big numbers. It was a little daunting. Gradually, and maybe due solely to the purchasing power of our friends and relatives, the book improved in numbers. Five digits. Lower five digits. I began checking these numbers every time I opened my computer– reloading the Amazon tab.

Then another rank was added to our Amazon ranking: #99 in Humor!

Tina Fey was number one. I texted Sophia: “We’re #99 in Humor on Amazon!”

“Out of how many?”

“ALL BOOKS!”

I just reloaded the page a few minutes ago.

WHAT?!

First of all, Engineering? What?

Second of all, eleven away from Tina Fey.

I’m glowing in the light of my Amazon screen.

Sophia and I have been feeling very grateful. The book has been getting RAVE reviews and we’re thrilled!

Our wonderful editor with his Tacos for Dinner painting!

This is a painting for our editor, Bruce, as a token of our gratitude– and to decorate his barren office.

And we’re doing another give-away on Tumblr– a thank you to the blogging platform that gave us our start! Click here for more info!

So yea, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Awesome review from Love Twenty!

I’m sure everyone has hilarious stories of things their parents have sent them via the fabulous text message, but I’m not sure they can beat the ridiculousness of any in When Parents Text: So Much Said…So Little Understood by Sophia Fraioli and Lauren Kaelin. This book will have you laughing from page to page as the sheer wackiness of our parents (that most twenty-somethings want to hide) is abruptly revealed.

Check out the article here!

Simply Stacie gives us a wonderful review on her site.

“Whatever it is, it’s a LOL (no, not “lots of love,” Mom!) good time. I highly recommend When Parents Text; it’s a perfect book for when you need a laugh…and would definitely be a great conversation piece if left on your coffee table.”

You can check it out here!
