• DAD: Just watched hot dog eating contest gross/exciting

My dad has and always will be the face of our about page.

One of the first texts we ever posted was also between him and my sister:

Table for One

DAD: Dining alone

ME: Loser

DAD: Big time.

Such a simple text, yet so layered and funny. When I read it I could imagine exactly what my dad was eating, where he was and why he was dining alone.

But you don’t have to know my dad to find this text funny. That’s the beauty of When Parents Text, we can relate all of these texts back to our own parents. Even the moms and dads who frequent our site can relate what they read back to their own parents technological fumbles– and so on and so forth.

It was nice to have this 4th of July weekend off. Lauren and I have updated the site every single day since November 5th (for real)… So this weekend we traveled back to our hometown and took a break. My dad made me delicious BBQ and he was definitely not dining alone. (photo by me!)
