6 Favorite Flowers To Give Mom on Mother’s Day

March 11, 2022 by Annie

Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show your love for your mom for all that she has done for you. While she always deserves your praise and admiration, this is a day to take this appreciation to another level. There are several different ways to celebrate and gifts you can give to your mom on this big day.

But one of the most unique Mother’s Day gifts for a mom who is hard to buy for are flowers or plants. Flowers and plants can improve the look of her space, make it more bright and cheerful, and also fill it with a wonderful scent.

But with thousands of different flower options, how can you choose which one to give her? Well, that is exactly what this article is here to help you with. So whether you want to celebrate Mother’s Day by sending flowers, or bring her the flowers in person, this article is going to go over some of the best flowers to give to your mom on Mother’s Day.

Tulips

One of the best flowers for making Mother’s Day special is the tulip. With Mother’s Day falling in May, tulips are a great seasonal choice that should be easily accessible for the big day. These flowers come in all different colors, and each color has a different meaning. Some represent loyalty, some love, some cheerfulness and there are many other types of hidden symbolism behind these flowers.

They look great, and are the perfect thing to brighten up and breathe life into a living room, bedroom, or office. No matter your mom’s favorite color, there will surely be a tulip that she adores. Getting her an entire bouquet of different-colored tulips is also a good idea to consider.

Roses

Roses are among the most beautiful and delicate flowers on the planet, which make them perfect for a wide range of different celebrations, including Mother’s Day. These flowers smell great, look unique, and are sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Of course, you need to be careful with roses. These flowers come in many different colors, and each has their own rose color meanings. For example, red roses often signify romance, passion, and love.

So when it comes to giving roses in your Mother’s Day bouquet, make sure they are the proper color for the emotion or message that you wish to convey. We would recommend either yellow roses (which signify friendship) or pink (which can signify appreciation and admiration) for a holiday like Mother’s Day.

Lilies

A longtime favorite on Mother’s Day and various other holidays, lilies are another great choice. They have an incredibly unique shape, and smell absolutely fabulous. These big and bold flowers are incredibly striking, both in terms of their colors/shades, and also how they are shaped.

Several types of lilies are two-toned, which is something you don’t see all the time out of plants and flowers. They come in every color from bright orange, to deep purple, to a soft white, and many others. Just like the multitude of different colors that these flowers can come in, they also have various different meanings.

Yellow lilies will symbolize thankfulness, orange lilies represent confidence and pride, white lilies symbolize virtue, and red can often symbolize passion.

Orchids

If your mom prefers a more subtle and exotic look, orchid flowers are a great option to give as a gift. They are a very delicate flower, and one that only gets better and more detailed as you look closer at it. Their shape is very different from others, and their long and sleek stem with several flowers protruding from it can look spectacular.

Orchids are also incredibly easy to care for, and can last quite a while if treated right, too. This means they can continue to look good in your mom’s space for a very long time, and every time she looks at the flowers, she will think of you and the appreciation she has for the gift.

While these are often given and displayed on their own in a pot or other container, they can also be a part of a vase, too. Pink orchids are a great choice as they represent elegance and femininity, whitre orchids are a timeless and high-quality choice, too.

Carnations

Truly one of the most classic flowers to give as a gift, on Mother’s Day or otherwise, carnations are a wonderful choice that your mom will surely appreciate. These flowers have a very full shape, and the way their petals ripple gives them an elegance that many other flowers simply cannot match.

Few flowers come in as many different colors and shades as carnations do. And with a lot of different colors, comes a lot of different meanings. While any carnation can make a great gift, the symbolism behind white and pink carnations make them especially good choices. Pink carnations can represent a mother’s love, while white carnations symbolize pure and unconditional love.

Also, finding these flowers will be easy. They are often readily available all year long, and are quite affordable too. In many cases, they can also last longer than many other flowers will, too.

Chrysanthemums

When a flower has the word “mum” in the name, you just know it has to be a great choice for Mother’s Day. These are also among the most versatile and flexible flowers on the planet. They look wonderful in a full Mother’s Day arrangement, but can also turn heads on their own. These flowers come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, so there is something for everyone.

So no matter how picky your mom is, finding a mum that she loves will be very simple. Also, these flowers are generally quite easy to find, and won’t break the bank. Their unique round shape and interesting petal configurations make these a flower that are sure to get noticed no matter where your mom puts them on display.

In conclusion, any of these flowers are great options to give to show your love and appreciation for your mom on Mother’s Day.
