What does a pillow protector do that makes it useful?

May 19, 2022 by Annie

If you have recently come across pillow protector then you may not entirely be familiar with the concept and all of the benefits they can bring to your sleep. Generally, a good pillow protector can be key for ensuring the longevity of your pillows. If you have invested in your pillows then their longevity is certainly something that you should be looking for which is why you might want to invest in a pillow protector like the ones found on Everlasting Comfort Waterproof Pillow covers.

So, what is it that a pillow protector does?

1. It keeps your pillows clean

One of the most important things that a pillow protector can do for your pillows keeps them clean. Because pillow protectors are made up of much thicker fabric, it does not allow for any liquids, sweat, grease, or dirt to reach the pillow. As such you will be much more likely to see any stains on your pillow that will require you to frequently wash your pillow.

In general, if you want your pillows to last you a long time you will want to avoid washing them in the washing machine frequently. Therefore, by adding a pillow protector you can focus on washing the protector without having to worry about having to wash any of your pillows.

2. Helps maintain their shape

Because of the thickness of the pillow protector, it usually keeps your pillow shape much more rigid. Especially if you have a feather pillow this will mean that the weight of you laying on it will not affect your pillow as much. Apart from that because of the thickness of the cover feathers will be less likely to leak out of your pillow. This is very important as pillows that lose their shape will stop being as comfortable and will usually require you to change them more frequently. If you have invested in your pillows, a pillow protector is a must for their long-term usage.

3. Hypoallergenic properties

Many pillow protectors are created to be hypoallergenic. This means that if you normally suffer from allergies using one of these pillows could allow you to sleep more comfortably and without having to worry about potentially having an allergic reaction in the middle of the night. Therefore, these protectors are not only protecting your pillow but they are also protecting you.

When you are looking at pillow protectors and their properties it is important to remember that above all else, they are created to keep your pillows safe. This is why they can help maintain their structure, protect their material and even keep them clean. Still, apart from all of that they can also be beneficial to your sleep as they can help with allergies as well as with anxiety caused by worrying about getting your pillows sweaty or greasy. This is why the increased layers of protection offered by the pillow protector are so important for your daily sleep. They are also important if you want to keep your pillows in prime condition in the long run.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
