3 Ways To Give Your Bathroom A Quick Update Over A Weekend

May 25, 2020 by Annie

If you have a bathroom that you’re ready to give a makeover but you don’t have a lot of time or money to devote to this project, tackling something over the weekend could be the best option for you. However, knowing exactly where to devote your energies can be an additional challenge.

To help you figure all of this out, here are three ways to give your bathroom a quick update over a weekend.

Install New Fixtures

One of the easiest, least expensive, and most obvious ways you can quickly improve the look and function of your bathroom is to install new fixtures throughout.

According to Tracey Anderson, a contributor to BobVila.com, these simple updates will be especially impactful if you have older or outdated fixtures in your bathroom. From your faucets to the pulls on your drawers, choosing a more modern fixture can really amplify your whole bathroom space.

In addition to these fixtures, you could also install new bath or shower fixtures. A luxurious showerhead or a more functional bathtub drain stopper may not seem like much, but they can really pull your room together if you match them to the rest of your bathroom fixtures.

Upgrade Your Mirror

Since every bathroom has a mirror, it’s up to you to do something to it that makes your space feel more unique.

To help you in doing this, Larissa Runkle, a contributor to Realtor.com, recommends that you try simply adding a frame around your existing mirror. Depending on the theme you’re wanting for your bathroom, the frame you add will vary. For example, if you’re wanting a bathroom that has a more rustic feel, you may want to add a wooden frame. But if you’re going for a more luxurious look, a more ornate frame might be what you go for.

Put In New Tile

For a project that will make a big impact while also requiring a bit more effort on your part, you might want to consider putting in some new tile throughout your bathroom.

According to the editors of Better Homes and Gardens share that, if you’re wanting a more economic option, you should look for a more basic subway tile to use in your space. But if you’re wanting more of a statement piece, choose any type of ceramic or other type tile that suits your fancy. And if you’ve never laid tile before, one quick search online can give you the basics and help you learn how to best go about this project.

If you’re wanting to give your bathroom a quick but effective and updated look, consider using the tips mentioned above to pick the best weekend project for you to undertake.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
