Light Up Your Holiday Spirit at Illuminations in Wichita!

November 6, 2019 by Annie

When you are living in Wichita or visiting the city for the holidays, you need to see the Illuminations event that happens for 30 days throughout the Christmas season. This event allows you to enjoy the lights and decorations that make the holidays great. Plus, the event brings you to the Botanical facility where the amazing flora will dazzle you every year. Read more to learn how this event can brighten your holiday season instantly.

Where Are You Going?

When you go to Botanica in Wichita, you will see more than just the holiday lights and decorations. The event itself turns the gardens facility into a holiday wonderland that goes under the sea and into the sky. It even creates magical fairy gardens where you might find elves or even Santa himself.

How Long Does It Last?

The illuminations last for 30 days during the heart of the holiday season. You can go any time during the 30-day event that concludes just after Christmas. Plus, you can bring friends and family back after you visited with your spouse or kids. The illuminations give you a reason to go looking for Christmas decorations, and you can support the event to help a worthy cause.

Support the Event

People who support the event can give money that will go to the work of the Botanica staff, the Boys and Girls Club, Ketch, or Rainbows. You can give in the name of someone you love, or you could give to the general fund. The event brings awareness to good causes, and the staff at Botanica can take you on a special tour through the lights as they talk about the plants and trees in the facility.

This is the Best Event for Pictures

You can take amazing pictures of the facility, the lights, and the flora that make up this exhibit. You might learn about new plants you have never heard of before, you can take pictures of your children in their holiday outfits. Plus, you can get pictures of your family for the holiday card that is sent out to everyone you know. Let Illuminations turn your holiday notes or cards into a yearly tradition.

Where Should You Stay?

You can come into Wichita at any time during the holiday season to see the Illuminations, and you might want to try the Hyatt Regency Wichita which is just down the street. You can choose Wichita hotels that are close to your friends and family. Find a hotel that allows you to rest comfortably in warm rooms with interior doors. Also, find a hotel that allows you to eat in their restaurant or order room service.

Will You Be There?

Going to Illuminations should be a part of everyone’s holiday schedule in Wichita. If you are going to Kansas to visit family, you can make time to visit the display. If you live in the area, you can make a night of your trip downtown. Stay in a nice hotel that will keep you comfortable, and enjoy the snow that might be falling on Christmas Day along with the lights and flowers at Botanica. You might also support the event so that passes can be given to people in need, or money will go to the general fund for the advancement of Botanica and its work.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
